As another programme of Corporate Social Responsibilities conducted for the welfare of people in Wanni region, troops under 62 Division organised a donation programme on 09 December 2018 in distributing Wheelchairs for 50 disabled civilians in Welioya, Sripura, Pulmudai, and Marathodei areas.
According to a request made by the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe, the donation of Wheelchairs was sponsored by a philanthropist Mr. Nimal Gunathilaka along with his son Mr. Jagath Deshapriya and a group of his friends.
A set of villagers comprising of 46 Sinhalese, 02 Tamils and 02 Muslims were offered Wheelchairs among each during a ceremony held at Aliwanguwa Temple. The distribution ceremony was graced by the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe as the Chief Guest while Mr. Nimal Gunathilaka along Mr. Jagath Deshapriya and his group of friends were present at the occasion as distinguished guests.
The Commander 621 Brigade, Government Officials representing several Departments, Senior Officers of 62 Division and its under command formations and large number of civilians too were present at the occasion.
