The Refresher Course (No - IX) conducted for Special Infantry Operations (SIO) for already qualified 02 Officers and 75 Other Ranks under Security Forces Wanni and Mullaitivu concluded on Friday 06 December 2018 at the Battalion Training School, Kalyanipura.
Special Infantry Operations (SIO) Refresher Course No - IX was commenced on 17 October 2018 at the Battalion Training School, Kalyanipura.
The aim of this refresher course was to refresh the knowledge of selected personnel, already qualified in Special Infantry Operations who had performed a predominant role during the Humanitarian Operations before May 2009 and distribute their experiences among the Officers and Soldiers who have joined Sri Lanka Army after end of Humanitarian Operations.
According to an invitation made by the General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier JMUD Jayasinghe, the Commander of Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) Major General H Kulathunga RSP graced the closing ceremony and certificate awarding.
Brigade Commanders of 621, 623 and 641 Brigades, Commanding Officers of 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 21 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 11 Gemunu Watch, 19 Gemunu Watch, 24 Gajaba Regiment, 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 14 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 5 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, large numbers of Officers and Other Ranks from under command Brigades and Battalions to 62 Division participated in the closing ceremony.
