Troops of 61 Division conducted a Shramadhana Campaign to clean the precinct of the Church of Lady Madu on 08 Oct 2018 on account of the forthcoming 69th Army Anniversary.
According to the instructions and guidance of General Officer Commanding 61 Division Brigadier KDCGJ Thilakarathne RWP RSP, over 10 Officers and 300 Other Ranks under 613 Brigadetook part in this Shrmadhamaprogrammewith the intention of keeping the Church premises and surrounding areas tidy and free of Dengue.
A largequantity of garbage left by devotees gathered in Massashad been cluttered the sacred Church premises and nearby areas. Under this Shramadhana campaign, the Madhu-Palampiddiand, Pandivirichchan- Madhu road sides, surrounding of Pilgrims’ Restswere cleaned in an ecofriendly manner.
Father PeppiSosai the administrator of Madhu church paid his sincere gratitude for all troops who participated in the Sramadana campaign.
The Commander 613 Brigade directed his troops to conduct this programme under the supervision of General Officer Commanding 61 Division Brigadier KDCGJ Thilakarathne RWP RSP.
