NVQ certificates were awarded to 20 personnel in view of enhancing the knowledge and skills of Army personnel and to provide them with a qualification of national standard. This was implemented as a continuation of the concept by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USA CGSC.
In that context, Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu initiated a program for the first group 20 Other Ranks to receive the certificate of National Vocational Training after completing their preliminary training conducted by the National Vocational Training Centres in Anuradhapura and Vavuniya.
The awarding of certificates on 14 September 2018was followed by an awareness programme conducted by Assistant Director of National Vocational Training Authority in Vavuniya, Mr G K D C Kumara on the importance of following Vocational Training for military personnel who are in service and those are to retire.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu graced the certificate awarding ceremony as the chief guest.Deputy Director of National Vocational Training Centre in Anuradhapura Mr Rohan Priyantha, Examination Evaluating Officer Ms S S S P Kumuduni, Assistant Director of National Vocational Training Centre Vavuniya Mr G K D C Kumara, Training Officer of National Vocational Training Centre Vavuniya Mr R P D L Rajapaksha and Programme Officer Ms T Rupika made the distinguished presence by representing Sri Lanka National Vocational Training Authority.
General Officers Commanding all under command Divisions together with their Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers, Senior Staff Officers, Officers of Headquarters of Security Force (Wanni) and large number Other Ranks participated in this occasion.
