Troops of 54 Division celebrates its 8th Anniversary by organising several programmes in prioritising all religions from 06 and 09 September 2018 under the supervision of General Officer Commanding - 54 Division Brigadier WGHAS Bandera RWP RSP ndu.
As the initial programme of the celebration, a special praying was held at Jumma Muslim Mosque in Mannar on 06 September 2018 in order to bless for troops under 54 Division. The Islamic blessings were followed by Hindu oblation held at Thiriketheeshwaran Kovil in the morning on 07 September 2018.
As the major religious event to mark the 8th Anniversary of the 54 Division, all staff officers and other ranks of the Division Headquarters gathered in a Buddha Pooja campaign held in the evening at Mathota Raja Maha Viharaya on the same day. Then, a special Catholic mass was organised at the Shrine of our Lady of Madu on 09 September 2018 to mark the 8th Anniversary of 54 Division.
In order to follow the Military formalities to mark the Division Anniversary, a Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour were bestowed to the General Officer Commanding of 54 Division inrepresenting troops of the Division Headquarters and under command Brigades.
Later on, staff of the Headquarters of 54 Division organised an all rank lunch and a grand musical extravaganza in evening at the premises of 54 Division Headquarters.
As the next event a get together of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers was held to mark the anniversary and all officers of the Division Headquarters were cordially invited for the event.
The series of celebrations of the 8th Anniversary of 54 Division were come to the end with an Officers’ get together organized at Officers’ Mess at the DivisionHeadquarters.
