In view of strengthening the reconciliation process and enhancing the good image of the Sri Lanka Army, the troops of 61 Division constructed the main gate at V/ Sri Krishna Vidyalaya and renovated the building of a preschool and Children Park at Sinnathampanei which were long felt needs for students of the area.
The construction and renovation project was carried out under the direction and close supervision of General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier KDCGJ Tilakaratne RWP RSP. The project was implemented due to a request made by the principal of school, preschool and villagers in the area. Troops under 61 Division completed the project with the generous sponsorship of Royal Paint Lanka (pvt) Ltd. The General Manager Mr. Sajeewa S. Fernando (owner of Sajeewa conveyors works) financially assisted the project.
After completing the construction and renovation project, the main entrance of the pre school, children park were vested to the respective authorities on 17th July 2018 by 61 Division to facilitate children. The event was graced by the Commander 611 Brigade Colonel LDSS Liyanage RSP USP psc Hdmc. The Divisional Education Officer Omanthai Mr. Sashi Kumar, the principal of Sri Krishna vidyalaya Mr. Suthakaran, with his staff of pre school, parents and students were also present at the opening ceremony.
The principal/ teachers along with their parents of the students and villagers expressed their sincere gratitude to Sri Lanka Army and troops under 61 Division on account of their charitable project to facilitate the underprivileged school.
