WANNI INNOVATIONS - 2018

As one of the major events to excel the innovation skills of the troops under Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), the Wanni innovations exhibition was taken place with the participation of 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) on 07 and 08 June 2018 at the premises of 21 Division Headquarters.

This exhibition is basically organized on account of enhancing the innovating skills of troops in Security Force (Wanni) area of responsibility and it was consisted 38 exhibition stoles.

First day of the exhibition was inaugurated with the presence of Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) Brigadier D S A Dehiwatta ATO. Three Innovations among thirty eight were awarded prizes and certificates after a fair judgment by Senior Lecture, University of Rajarata Miss G A Sanjeewani Gunigathdhara and the Senior Lecture, University of Ruhuna Mr. J V T Weerasooriya who represented the Judge Board. First place was awarded to Rifleman Rathnayake W B G C D from 17 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment for his innovation of Electric Fence to prevent Elephants’ approaches while Second and third places were awarded to Engineer Soldier Udaya Kumara B G from 9 Engineers Services Regiment for his innovation of Multipurpose Iron Bending Machine and Lance Corporal Jayathilaka U G W M D B from 15 Gamunu Watch for his innovation of Automatic Bugle respectively.

The exhibition was organized with the supervision of the Commander 212 Brigade, Brigadier M P Lamahewa USP under the guidance of General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General W R P De Silva USP ndu IG and the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu.

The Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North Central), several Senior Officers and Officers by representing all under command formations, and civilians in nearby areas were present at the occasion.
