The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP USP ndu attended ceremonies commemorating of war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice during the past three decades of war to safeguard the integrity and sovereignty of the mother land.
All officers and other ranks of Wanni Headquarters paid their tribute on this 9th Anniversary of the great Victory achieved on successful completion of the Humanitarian Operation conducted against the most brutal band of terrorist in the world.
Offering floral tribute at the war heroes’ monument in Wanni Headquarters premises early in the morning on 18 May 2018 the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP USP ndu hoisted the flag of Security Force (Wanni) and observed two minutes silence in remembering fallen heroes.
Subsequently the message of the Commander of the Army was red to all and the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP USP ndu delivered his speech to mark the 9th Anniversary of the Victory of Humanitarian Operation.
As the next segment of the day’s event religious activities were held at the Church of Holly Spirits, Kandhasami Kovil and Jumma Masjid Mosque respectively.
The day’s celebrations and commemorations come to an end with a Bodhi Pooja programme conducted in Wanni Headquarters premises with the participation of all Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters.
