The annual Inter Division cricket tournament is a much looked forward to event in the sports calendar of Security Force Wanni. Officers and soldiers both participate in the tournament with hyped up enthusiasm as it enhances comradeship, determination, courage and discipline among all participants as well as spectators.
54 Division along with its under command Brigades and Battalions organized the Inter Division Cricket Tournament for year 2018 with the guidance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP USP ndu.
Final matches of the tournament were held on 23 February 2018 at 54 Division play ground, under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 54 Division Major General Athula Galagamage. The tournament was successfully concluded with 54 Division team emerging as the champions.
After a close encounter between 54 and 21 Division teams in the final match, 54 Division team recorded an outright win over 21 Division which became the Runners up of Inter Division Cricket Tournament – 2018 while third Place was achieved by 56 Division Team.
Trophy for Man of the Match and Man of the Series was awarded to Corporal Muhandiram G M N K M of 19 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. The certificate awarding and closing ceremony was graced by General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General W R P De Silva USP ndu IG as the Chief Guest.
