The closing ceremony of Inter Division Athletics Meet-2017took place on 15 October 2017 at the Collage of Education, Punthottam. The Athletic Meet is one of the main events,organizing every year in Security Force (Wanni) area where the Officers and Other Ranks of all under command formations get the opportunity to exhibit their physical robustness, energetic power and the stability of mind.\r\n\r\nFormations under command to Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) along with 2(V) and 4(V) Women’s Corpbattled for the championship in track and field events during 13, 14 and 15 October 2017.\r\n\r\nTheAthletics Meet emulated the highest professional sportsmanship with many records to improve the standards through the thirst for athletic achievements inside the organization. The overall championship was awarded to 56 Division while 62 Division emergedrunners up. According to the result achieved in contests between Women’s Corp battalions, the 2 (V) Sri Lanka Women’s Corp became the champion battalion while 4 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corp was awarded runners up.\r\n\r\nTroops of 56 Division and its under command Brigades and Battalions organized the year’s Meetin a grandiose manner with elaborate arrangements under the carefulsupervision of Brigadier T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu,the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division.\r\n\r\nThe Commander of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General M K DPerera RWP RSP USP ndu graced the certificate awarding and closing ceremony as the chief guest.\r\n\r\nThe General Officers Commanding of all Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and large number of Other Ranks made their presence in the finale ceremony of Inter Division Athletic Meet - 2017.\r\n
