The day of the full moon of May is called as “ Vesak” and on the Vesak Day, Buddhists around the world celebrate and reflect on the Birth of Lord Buddha, his Enlightenment and Parinirvana. 61 Division and it’s under command sub headquarters, commemorated the Vesak Day by organizing several religious programmes and exhibition of Vesak Lanterns created by the troops of 61 Division over four days at division premises with the participation of the civil community in Welankulam.
