NEW YEAR GIFTS FOR VEHERATHENNA AND BOGASWEWA VILLAGERS
Residents of Bogaswewa and Veherathenna villages situated in 62 Division area are stricken by the existing dry weather condition. With the goodwill of consoling the helpless villagers, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc visited these villagers with handful of gifts on 6th April 2016 morning. More than five hundred villagers were offered with dry ration packs each worth of Rs.2000.00. These packs were comprised with rice, sugar, flour, dhal, coconut oil and etc. \r\nNot only villagers but also all the students of Bogaswewa School around six hundred of them, were given packs of school stationery consisted with a school bag, exercise books and a t-shirt. All the pre-school children and school students of Veherathanna also were gifted with these stationary packs. \r\nOn the threshold of the Sinhala Hindu New Year dawn, this meritorious action was kindly donated by the Chief Incumbent of Kelaniya Manelwaththa Rajamaha Viharaya and the maha Nayaka Thero of Taiwan Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thero. The all round event was organized by the Chief Incumbent of Anuradhapura Naga Viharaya Ven. Mamaduwe Pajnasekera Thero. There were nine Venerable Theros and eighteen Buddhist Nuns presented at the event with a large number of villagers and Army personnel. \r\n
