COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE WANNI UNVEILED THE MONUMENT OF PEACE AND OPENED YUDHA NIMA WEVA IN SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS WANNI

War monument built to pay tribute to brave hearts those who scarified their energetic youth, for establishing peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mother Sri Lanka, by annihilating brutal and inhuman terrorism which spread over the country more than three decades, was honourbly opened by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc with all military traditions, in the evening of Sunday 22 November 2015 at the middle of ‘Yudha Nima Wewa’ which also constructed in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) and named to remember the contribution of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), as the main field formation to defeat the terrorism from the soil. \r\n\r\nAn Unknown Soldier who is glancing serenely at a pigeon flying freely from his grasp, with an olive leave on its beak, keeps his weapon turning towards the ground and stands on a stage decorated with red flowers. The pigeon and the Unknown Soldier signify the peace, happiness and prosperity that were gained for the nation by offering own life. The weapon turned towards the earth symbolized the termination of the war forever. The stage of flowers he stands on signifies the eternal tribute the soldiers get for their noble sacrifice for the nation as well as Motherland.\r\n
