THE FIRST ARMY INTER REGIMENT WUSHU TOURNAMENT HELD AT SALIYAPURA
The first Army Inter Regiment Wushu Tournament that was competed by players of 11 Regiments drew to a close on 30 Sep 2015 evening at the gymnasium of Gajaba Regiment -Saliyapura. \r\n\r\nMajor General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commander Security Force Wanni graced the finals encounter between Sri Lanka Singha Regiment (SLSR) and Sri Lanka Corps Military Police (SLCMP) players, as the Chief Guest together with Major General KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc , Chief Signal Officer of the Army and chairman of the Army Wushu committee. \r\n\r\nAs the final tussle 7 women’s crops team and Signal Crops women’s teams were selected. From the women’s game 7 women’s crops managed to protect Championship. However, beating SLASC men’s team, SLSR team finally emerged winners to secure the Championship. \r\n\r\nCommander Security Force Wanni extending best wishes to the players gave away trophies and certificates to the winners upon the conclusion of the match.\r\n\r\nThe tournament and the final matches were organized by 21 Division together with Army wushu Committee with the guidance and instructions of Major General KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc Chairman, Army Wushu Committee. \r\n\r\nA large gathering of senior officers, other rankers and wushu fans watched the final match.
