THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY VISITS WANNI FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER RESUMING HIS DUTIES
The Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General AWJC De Silva RWP USP ndu psc made his first official visit to Security Force (Wanni) on 25 June 2015 as the Commander of the Army. Commander, SF (Wanni) warmly welcomed The Commander of the Army at the entrance of the premises and reviewed the Guard Turnout and the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented by 12 SLE troops and subsequently planted a tree in memory of his first field visit to SF (Wanni). Later Commander of the Army addressed approx 1200 troops and following that Commander addressed over 500 officers at the auditorium of SF (Wanni). Commander of the Army stressed the importance of inculcating sense of discipline and working with dedication to enhance the reputation of the Army.\r\n\r\nCommander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera, Senior officers, officers and over 2000 other ranks attended the event.\r\n\r\nCommander of the Army visited 54 Division, 56 Division area and 62 Division and addressed the troops in each location. \r\n\r\nIn the evening Commanders witnessed two presentations conducted by the Brigade Commander and Commanding Officers of 213 Brigade on “Quality of work life and is it must in the army?’’ and Brigade Commander and Commanding Officers 613 Brigade on “Ways and means to enhance conducive working environment in the Army”. Commander of the Army emphasized the importance of the training and conducting researches to improve the knowledge of officers to enhance the professionalism in the Army.\r\n\r\nThereafter all officers participated for a grand formal dinner at the new Officers mess.\r\n\r\nThe Commander SF HQ (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera, all the General Officers Commanding, Commander FMA(N/C) and Brigade Commanders Commanding Officers and large number of officers who work under SF (Wanni) AOR took part for this these events. A symbolic memento was also presented to the Commander by the Commander Security Force (Wanni). Before his departure, commander kept his valuable thoughts on the SF HQ (Wanni) visitors book.
