The newly-appointed 61 Division General Officer Commanding Brigadier WA Wanniarachchi RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties Wednesday (28) morning during a simple ceremony at his office at the Headquarters 61 Division, Velankulam.
‘Seth Pirith’ chanting of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the new office as he placed his signature for a formal document, signifying the acceptance of his duties.
A formal Guard Turnout greeted Brigadier Wanniarachchi upon his arrival at the 61 Division Headquarters premises in keeping with military traditions.
