The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General R M D Ratnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, addressed hundreds of troops belongs to 54 Division, 62 Division, 21 Division and Headquarters in Wanni on 12th December 2014.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni), Competent Authority for Internal displaced personnel in the Northern Province, Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, welcomed the visiting Commander in the company of respective General Officers Commanding in different Divisions.
The Commander explained the series of welfare measures that had been implemented in the past few years with the support of HE the President and the Ministry of Defence for the benefit of troops and their families.
Newly constructed sports complex, ‘Mathota Arena’ in 54 Division was declare opened by the Commander of the Army on this visit.
