Series of badminton matches which showcased the strength and power of the all ranks under Security Force (Wanni), came to an end with the grand finals conducted at Gymnasium of 61 Division on 04th November 2014.
In order to conduct the final tournament the former gymnasium at Headquarters 61 Division had been renovated with a finest out look and a standardized Badminton court and was officially declared open by the Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Competent Authority for Resettling IDP’s in Northern Province Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, on the same day, followed with couple of shots played by the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) and General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier DMWWWMRBM Daulagala RSP, to mark the opening of the court.
The best player award of the series was won by S/ 752287 Lance Corporal De Silva GWDR from Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) team, while Brigadier DMWWWMRBM Daulagala RSP, and Colonel TM Aberathna was being awarded with the trophy for the game of over 45 years double final match. The game of over 45 years single was won by Brigadier JC Gamage psc The trophies and certificates for the winners were given away by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, as the chief guest of the event. The General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier DMWWWMRBM Daulagala RSP, accompanied the chief guest for the event.
