INTER DIVISIONS WANNI VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2014
Series of volleyball matches which showcased the strength and power of the soldiers under Security Force wanni, came to the end after the grand final which awarded the Inter Divisions Wanni Volleyball Championship 2014 to volleyball team of 21 Division after a neck to neck fight with the volleyball team of Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) on 30 September 2014 at volleyball court of 56 Division.
The best attacker of the tournament was Trooper Ilangakoon IPKS and the best defender award was won by Private Chandrathilaka CSK. The title of best all round player of the tournament was won by recruit Amarasinghe AAPK of 21 Division.
This colorful and powerful evening had been organized by the 62 Division with excellent guidance and directions with the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier KGD Perera RWP RSP USP IG. The great shadow behind this gorgeous and strength full volleyball tournament was the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Competent Authority of Resettlement of Displaced Personnel in Northern Province and the president of the Army volleyball association Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc who graced this evening volleyball match as the honorable chief guest with the great participation of the General Officer Commanding of 21 Division, Maj General PUS Vithanage RSP the Commander of FMA (North Central) Brigadier DS Weerasekara USP, senior officers and Officers large number of Other Ranks, and school student of the area.
After conducting the final tournament the enthusiastic gathering was fortunate to witness an exhibition match played between the volleyball teams of Sri Lanka Sinhe regiment and Sri Lanka Service Corp that was won by Sri Lanka Service Corp.
