VISIT OF THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY FOR INSPECTING THE AREA DEVELOPMENT AND RESETTLEMENT IN WANNI
Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General R M D Ratnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc visited several places in Wanni area for close supervision of the constructional work in Vedattaltivu, Nandimithragama, Padaviya and some divisional headquarters on 04 September 2014.
The Commander witnessed the facilities that have been provided for the resettled people who enjoy the freedom after thirty years of destructive war and the infrastructure facilities and housing constructions at Nandimithragama, Namalhama and Bogaswewa villages. The monument is being built to pay gratitude for the giant Nandimithra, temple, museum and hermitage under construction at Nandimithragama were supervised by the Commander of the Army.
Later the Commander declared open the newly constructed outdoor volleyball courts at 56 and 62 Divisions. On this tour he visited the training school of Commando Regiment CRSWTS and SFJWTS training school of Special Force to observe the status of those places.
During this tour the Commander was accompanied by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Major General A K S Perera WWV RWP RSP USP ndu and senior officers from 21, 54, 56, 61 and 62 Divisions.
