62 Division had organized a distribution campaign of dry ration packets and drinking water bottles under the kind patronage of the Parish priest of Waga Parish and father Sanjeewa of Padaviya parish to the drought-hit people in Kalyanipura steps I, II and IV on 25 August 2014. 200 families were benefited by this drought relief campaign. The event was conducted under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG, and coordinated by Commanding Officer 17 Sri Lanka National Guard, Lieutenant Colonel B K V K P Rodrigo SLNG
