Commanding officer 9th battalion of Gajaba Regiment Major W A J Hemachandra RSP had organized a distribution of dry ration packets and drinking water under the kind patronage of the “Colombo Dockyard (Pvt) Ltd welfare society †to the drought-hit people in KIRIIBBANWEWA and JANAKAPURA, on 15 August 2014. 670 Families were benefited by this drought relief campaign. The event was conduct under the guidance of Commander of the 62 Division Brigadier K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG, and with the supervision of the commander 621 Bde Colonel I H M N N Herath USP psc.
