ASSISTANCE FOR DROUGHT DISTRESSED PEOPLE BY ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT
Distribution of drinking water and dry ration for the hard hit villagers by drought in Horowpathana Divisional Secretariat was held by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit on 12 August 2014 at Pallewela Siri Rathanapala commemorative Hall.
More than 400 families from Maradankadawala, Paranagama, Aluthwaththa, Akkaraseeya and Rambewa were benefitted with this relief program. Each dry ration pack was comprised with rice, dhal, and sugar.
The program was held with the participation of Mrs. Damayanthi Rathnayaka President of ASVU, Mrs Sepalika Samarasinghe Vice President of ASVU including the presidents of SVU of other Regiments, The General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General PUS Vithanage and Estate Officers.
