COMMUNITY WELFARE SERVICE TO ASSIST DROUGHT VICTIMS
62 Division has organized a community welfare service to assist drought victims in Ethawetunuwewa, Kalyanipura, Nikawewa, Kiriibbanwewa, Monarawewa, Ehetugaswewa, and Gajabapura under the kind patronage of the S J M S association at 0900 hrs on 12 August 2014 & for the people in Weherathenna, Kambiliwewa, Konwewa, Kohombagaswewa and Weherawewa at 1040 hrs on the same day. 205 numbers of 10 liter plastic cans and dry ration packs were distributed and drinking water for 714 families were also provided by using four bowsers of water. Mrs Lilani Jayasooriya and Mrs Wasantha Nanayakkara represented the S J M S association and Brigadier K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG, General Officer Commanding 62 Division was present at the events.
