Distribution of School items at the Thanthirimalaya Maha Vidyalaya
School items are distributed among the poor school children those who belong to various nationalities, annually, by an International Canadian Institute ‘Sleeping child Around the World’, by co-ordinating with Rotary Club, Kelaniya.
In this year, the programme has been planned by co-ordinating with Sri Lanka Army aiming 4000 School children. As a one stage of the programme, school items were distributed among selected 800 students, 6-12 years old, at the Thanthirimalaya Maha Vidyalaya from 0830 to 1430 on 3rd July 2014. Members of the Rotary Club and members of SCAW Institute, The Brigade Commander of the 212 Brigade, Brigadier Shantha Hewawitharana RS PIG, Civil Co-ordinating officer of 212 Bde Lieutenant Colonel Thoradeniya, Commanding Officer of 5th Sri Lanka National Guard, large numbers of villagers, School teacher and students also were presented.
