Introducing a new concept for the Ranaviru Reality Show the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) the competent authority for resettling internal displaced personnel (IDPs) in Northern province and Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment, Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP ndu psc, directed General officer Commanding of 21 Division Brigadier HKP Peris USP to conduct the “ WANNI REAL STAR†for the officers/sldrs in Security Forces (W) AOR and the Grand Finale to be organized by the Overlooking Commander Forward Maintenance Area (N/C) Col W G Dias. As a result of the whole effort, the final round of “WANNI REAL STAR†was held on 15 November 2013 at “ABIMANSALA†wellness resort as a very colourful and eye catching event.
Out of 50000 participant from whole in services under Security Forces (Wanni) AOR the best 8 competitors were selected for the final round to show their performances on stage. For the final competition, to select the best performer a qualified judges were invited. The judge panel leaded by Mr Mahanama Wickramasinghe who is the Senior Lectcher University of Visual and Performing Art and others were the Senior Lecture University of Visual and Performing Art Mr Ranjan Wikramanayaka and Member of Marimba music group Mr Chamikara Perera. S/259807 Gnr Priya Sooriya NAN was able to secure the title of “WANNI REAL STAR’’ beating all other 7 competitors at the Grand Finale.
The Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Maj Gen MHSB Perera RWP RSP ndu psc graced the occasion as the chief guest, and all other Division Commanders, Brigade Commanders senior Officers’ of SL Army, SL Navy, SL Air Force, , SL Police and OR’s in Security Forces (Wanni) AOR were presented. War heros of Abimansala were also able to witness this colourful event.
The winner was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 100000.00 and the second place won by S/578397 Pte Udayapriya IH who received a sum of Rs. 75000.00 as the second price. O/6051 Capt WMRB Wanninayaka NCC was placed third and awarded with Rs. 50000.00. Fourth, Fifth and Sixth places were secured by S/826885 L/cpl Samarajeewa PA, S/751816 Cpl Jayarathna IG and O/64597 Maj PL Kulathunga SLE respectively and they were awarded with Rs 15000 each as the consolatory award.
