61 DIVISION HEADQUARTERS ORGANIZED MULTI SERVICE WELFARE PROJECT AT THAUSIYAKULAM SCHOOL IN VAVUNIYA DISTRICT
Two hundred sixty five (265) reading glasses, collection of prescriptions for special spectacles for civilians were donated by TRUSTEE OF PATTAKANNU FOUNDATION. In addition to that, they have conducted dental care session for students. School bags and parcels containing of essential school items were donated for fifty students at Thausiyakulam school - Ichchankulam in Vavuniya District on 11th August 2013. Senior officers, Principal and academic staff of the school, parents and students attended the occasion. Snacks and a glass of milk, Lunch were provided to students and attending parents by the 611 Brigade and under Comd Battalians (25 SLLI, 9 SLSR).
The programme was organized by 611 Brigade under the guidance of Comd 61 Division Headquarters. Brigadier DMWWWMRBM Daulagala RSP GOC 61 Division, Colonel MP Lamahewa USP Commander 611 Brigade, Colonel DMUG Bandara RSP USP Commander 612 Brigade, Commanding Officers, Civil Affairs Officer 61 Division and Senior officers were present the occasion along with the Manager Trustee of Pattakannu Foundation Mr. Thyagaraja & The President of Smile Sri Lanka Dr Keerthika and their staff.
