WORKSHOP ON ‘‘WATERMANSHIP’’ TRAINING FOR TROOPS OF 21 INFANTRY DIVISION

In responding for disaster situation a three-day workshop was conducted for Search and Rescue teams of 21 Infantry Division AOR in resuming of civilians in case of flood and emergency situation that my take place due to heavy rain fall. This workshop were conducted from 05 th November 2023 to17 th November 2023 at Galpalama, near Anuradhapura, Malwathu Oya.

The training team included 02 x 06 from Center for Disaster Response Training of Sri Lanka Army at Gampola and training module consisted with lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions which included basic disaster relief actions, identifying of the tidal waves, first aid and life saving techniques in a flood situation, bringing a drowned person to land safely, operating of motor boat etc. Totally 08 x 160 troops took part in the workshop as cover all under command battalions in the Division.
