THE VISIT OF NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) TO 54 AND 61 DIVISIONS
The new Commander – Security Force (Wanni), Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP USP ndu made the first official visit to54 and 61 Division on 14, 15 August 2017. The Commander was respectfully and ceremoniously welcomed by the General Officers Commanding of respective Divisions, Major General G J A W Galagamage and Major General D M S Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu by awarding a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour at the premises of the Divisions.\r\n\r\nIn the course of the visit, the General Officers Commanding made inclusive briefings pertaining to the Divisions. As follows on events,the SF Commander addressed the troops of the respective Divisions and joined all ranks for a tea.\r\n\r\nAs part of the official visits, the Commander visited all under command Brigades to 54 and 61 Divisions in the respective areas where he was accompanied by General Officers Commanding of 54 and 61 Divisions. During the visit, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) was warmly welcomed by Brigade Commanders of the respective Brigades with brief presentations on the Brigade Areas.\r\n\r\nOn the way back from 541 Brigade, the Commander visited to inspect the jetty in Vedithalthivu and later on, attended in the inauguration of the newly constructed Officers’ Mess in 542 Brigade when the visit was taken place to its Brigade Headquarters.\r\n
