VISIT OF THE COMMANDER OF ARMY TO RESETTLED VILLAGES IN WANNI REGION
The Commander of the Army Lieutenant General R M D Rathnayaka WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc made an observation visit to the resettled villages in Vavuniya region, Kokkeliya and Nandimithragama on 22nd November 2014. The Commander took this opportunity to talk to the villagers and discuss their problems with them by observing the public amenities by himself.
The Commander observed the progress of ongoing development programs, specially the temple, museum, preschool, school, hospitals, roads and the statue of the Giant Nandimithra on his visit. The Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, and Competent Authority for Displaced Personnel in the Northern Province Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, General Officers Commanding of 56 and 62 Divisions and senior Army officers had joined with the Army Commander for this observation visit.
