The Commander of Security Force (Wanni), Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, visited the 56 Infantry Division and its under-command Brigades on 08 July 2024.
The General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, and Staff Officers extended a warm welcome to the Commander, Security Force (Wanni) upon his arrival.
General Officer Commanding delivered the welcome speech. Following this, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) addressed the troops, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace and security while upholding the Army's standards through training and discipline. Subsequently, the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division presented a memento to the Commander Security Force (Wanni), commemorating his first official visit to the 56 Infantry Division.
Thereafter, he planted a Mango sapling in front of the office complex and appeared for a group photograph. Then a comprehensive briefing was conducted by the General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division. Afterward, the Commander, Security Force (Wanni) visited the 561, 562 and 563 Infantry Brigades area of responsible as the last segment of the days programme where Brigade Commanders briefed on their duties in the area of responsible at each brigade headquarters. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
