As a request of civilians in Mannar district, a welfare vegetable shop was opened by 54 Division in Mannar town with the excellent guidance of General Officer Commanding – 54 Division Major General MAM Dias RWP RSP USP psc. It was declared opened by the commander 541 Brigade Colonel LSP Perera and consumers on 22 December 2013. This was commenced for the benefit of civil community for providing fresh vegetables in reasonable prizes.
