TWENTY SECOND COMMEMORATION OF LIEUTENANT GENERAL DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA RWP RSP VSV USP RCDS ndc psc
The 22nd death anniversary of the legendary War Hero who was assassinated by the LTTE at Araly Point, Kayts, Jaffna , Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa of the Sri Lanka Army was held on 08th August 2014. The ceremony and the commemorative programme were organized by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corp at Denzil Kobbekaduwa statue at Anuradhapura and Thanthirimale Rajamaha Viharaya with the participation of The Commandant of the Armoured Corp Training Centre Lieutenant Colonel PAM Peris USP psc, Mrs Laly Kobbekaduwa, family members and Army troops.
Floral wreaths laying ceremony was held eminently for the Denzil Kobbekaduwa statue at Anuradhapura while distributing dry rations for selected poor families in Thanthirimale, and alms giving’s for the monks at Lankarama Temple with the chief participation of Mrs. Laly Kobbekaduwa.
