“Manusath Derana” a well-known social welfare campaign conducted by Derana Broadcasting Service joined hands with troops under 62 Division to launch 35th Manusath Derana campaign based on Ehatuwewa village in Welioya administrative area on 23 June 2018.
More than 1091 villagers in Ehatuwewa, Welioya and nearby areas were checked by a medical team at a mobile clinic conducted to diagnose patients affected with Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD). Subsequently, Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society provided spectacles for 650 villagers who are having several eye defects.
In addition, 15 selected families without having the facilities of electricity were provided with Solar Panels to fulfil their day today power consumption. Taking another step forward to facilitate students of Ehatuwewa School, the Managing Director of Nayagara Motors PLC Mr. Thisara Jayathilake donated a Rivers Osmosis Plant to install the machine at school premises.
Organising of entire social welfare campaign was coordinated under the guidance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and it was supervised by the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier L A N S Wanigasinghe RWP RSP USP and the Commander 621 Brigade Colonel P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP.
The General Officer Commanding of 62 Division, the Commander 621 Brigade, the president of Manusath Derana social welfare campaign Mr. Mahesh Jayawardhana, the Managing Director of Nayagara Motors PLC Mr. Thisara Jayathilake, a medical team comprised with doctors, nursing officers, medical staff and large number of villagers in Ehatuwewa, Welioya and nearby areas participated in the event.
