According to the directions given by the Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General KumuduPerera RWP RSP USP VSV ndufor enhancing the coexistence among all ethnic and religious groups in Wanni region, troops under 62 Division organized a special mass on 13June 2018 at Jumma Mosque in Pulmudai to celebrate Ramadhan that fasting month observed by Muslims in Sri Lanka, in view of Ramadan festival on15 June 2018.
As the Chief Guest of the Day’s event, the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier L A N S Wanigasingha RWP RSP USP together with all Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers under 62 Division joined Islamic members in Pulmudai area to mark the sacred Ramadan fast.
Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad.
Addressing the gathering by the the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division stated that the importance of organizing such kind of religious activities to build up the coexistence among all religious and ethnic groups in Wanni region.
More than hundreds of Islamic devotees prayed in joining together with Islamic military personals and they all were blessed by Rev. Mavulavisgathered in the sacred mass.
This sacred mass was come to the end with a refreshment organized by troops of 62 Division.
