In keeping with a concept of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu to strengthen the reconciliation process and to build up the image of the Sri Lanka Army, troops under 613 Brigade organized a three-day workshop at M/ Periya Pandipirichchan Maha Vidyalaya during 18th ,19th and 20th July 2018 for students who are expecting to appear in the General Certificate of Advanced Level Examination in year 2018.
The workshop has been organized under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP and the guidance of Commander 613 Brigade Colonel RKNC Jayawardana RSP. All Officers and Other Ranks of 613 Brigade gave an immense support to make success this programme in coordinating with Zonal Education Office Madu. In addition, troops of 61 Division and 613 Brigade stepped forward to facilitate the program by providing tutorial notes, transport, refreshments and lunch for students and teachers while the Director of Zonal Education Office organized teams of resource personals, venue and directing students for the workshop.
36 students participated in the programme held on 18th July 2018 which covered Tamil and Hindu Culture. All students and teachers admired immensely this programme because they were being capable to build much confidence to face the examination.
The Commander 613 Brigade Colonel RKNC Jayawardane RSP, Senior Officers of 61 Division, the Director Zonal Education Office Madu Mrs M Veninton, the Assistant Director (Advanced Level Education) Mr. A Logeshwaram and his staff, the Principal M/ Periya Pandipirichchan Maha Vidyalaya Mr. S Rajarathnam along with his staff and students attended in this programme.
