The Andarakudawawa tank bund in Madawachchiya agrarian services department was damaged due to heavy rainfall on 16 December 2023. There was an urgent need for repairing of this tank bund immediately. Hence, prompt action was taken by Commander Security Forces (Wanni) General Dinesh Nanayakkara under the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division and the 213 Infantry Brigade Commander directed the troops took 2(V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, for the repairs of the tank bund. The Commanding Officer 2(V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major K A I Kodikara - VIR along with 01 x 15 of troops and Villagers participated for this repair work which was able to reconstruct the tank bund at a short time. Villagers of Ulpathgama were highly appreciated for the dedicated service of the troops of Sri Lanka Army.
