As an initiative taken by the General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Major General D M S Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu, all officers and troops of 61 Division organised in providing lunch and a valuable gift pack comprising of essential items for daily requirements for children in Hindu Ampakamam Children’s Home at Veppankulam on 26 May 2018, in view of celebrating the 10th Anniversary of 61 Division.
46 children and 16 staff members of the Children’s Home were provided with gift packs and lunch during this donation programme. The Head of the Children’s Home Mrs. Jayankaran and her staff highly appreciated this donation and contribution made by 61 Division for a betterment of this group of helpless children.
The General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Major General D M S Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu along with senior officers of the Division Headquarters and staff of the Ampakamam Children’s Home participated in this charitable programme.
