The Military Police Vehicle Check Point at Madu junction is one of the busiest military police post located in the 61 Division Area. This junction is filled with a large crowd flocked during the period of Annual feast of Shrine of the Lady Madu. Therefore, with a purpose of the better function ofall military traveling activities, a newly constructed Military Police Post was opened at Madu Junction on 29 October 2018.
After observing the condition of previous Military Police Post, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu instructed and guided the General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP to construct a new Military Police Post with accommodation facilities for Military Policemen ensuring duties throughout the day and night.
Constructions of the new Military Police Post were carried out under the directions of Commander 612 Brigade Colonel R K N C Jayawardhana RSP and with the supervision of General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP.
The newly constructed Military Police Post has all needed facilities with accommodations for Military Policemen and it will be functioned in providing a better service for military transportation.
