As the concept initialized by the Commander of Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC to organise various events to mark the 69th Army Anniversary, troops of 56 Division gathered in organising a Shramadhana Campaign to clean road sides of A – 9, Main Bus Stand and the surrounding areas.
Under the theme of “Surakimu Parisaraya”, this Shramdhana Campaign was launched during several hours on 08 October 2018 with the participation over 200 Army soldiers and it was conducted with the directions of Commander 561 Brigade Colonel A C P De Silva RWP RSP and the supervision of General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya ndu psc.
The Chairperson of Municipal Council in Vavuniya Mr Rasalingam Gautham and his staff members gave their fullest support to make success this event.
All communities in Vavuniya town paid their gratitudeand appreciated soldiers who made their efforts to make the city clean while number of localities in Vavuniya town voluntarily provided refreshments to the soldiers by exhibiting the virtuous rapport between military and the public.
