Due to the prevailing bad weather condition and heavy rain the irrigation canal bund running from the Kokkamadu tank in Madukare, Murunkan in 542 Inf Bde AOR caused a damage to the Madukare Road, which has been frequently used by the people of the area.
As per the request made by the District Secretary of Mannar, GOC 54 Inf Div Major General Dharshana Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc instructed the Comd 542 Inf Bde to attend the task with 15 (V) GW troops of 542 Inf Bde on 07th and 08th November 2021 to assist on repairing the damaged road and the canal under the supervision of the irrigation Engineer. 01 X 25 troops attended the said task under the supervision of Comd 542 Inf Bde and CO 15 (V) GW. Divisional Secretary also visited the location.
