On instructions and guidance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the trainees of “Kiyoshiru Budo” martial art programme phase II conducted in Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) engaged to assist the construction of Sandhahiru Stupa in Anuradhapura on 14 September 2019.
Sandhahiri Stupa is being constructed to commemorate and pay the utmost respect to the war heroes contributed to eliminate the three decades long terrorism from the mother land.
Over 800 trainee students of the course devotedly participated in assisting the construction by carrying bricks to the upper layer of the Stupa. Conducting such spare time activities will be an extra benefit to make their minds stable and keep them physically fit to suite for undergoing such a martial art training course effectively.In same, while engaging with this meritorious activity, the minds of trainee soldiers were set to pay their prime honour and respect to the Sandhahiru Stupa constructing to commemorate everyone who valiantly contributed to eradicate the terrorism from our mother land.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc attended this event and made a close look on the contribution of troops by praising their hard effort.
The Chief Instructor of “Kiyoshiru Budo” martial art programme Renshi Mr Clement De Zoysa along with his team of instructors, Officers and Other Ranks representing Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) too were present at the occasion.
