TERMINATION OF THE SPECIAL RESERVE PLATOON COURSE - NO: 05

As the direction of Commander, Security Force (Wanni), Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, the Special Reserve Platoon Course - No: 05 was conducted at Battalion Training School, Pampaimadu terminated on June 13, 2023. The course was comprised of 10 x platoons (09 officers and 248 other ranks) contributed by the 21, 54, 56, 62, and 65 Infantry Divisions.

The curriculum of the course included lectures and practical sessions on handling GPS, unarmed combat (UC), VIP/VVIP protection, the marksmanship package (handling of weapons with live firing), search and rescue operations, rules of engagement (ROE), special operation procedures, and internal security (IS) duties.

The closing remarks of the course was conducted by the Brigadier General Staff, Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Brigadier S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP, with the participation of the Commander, 562 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier J M A Jayassekara RSP USP, Colonel General Staff of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers of respective battalions which contributed platoons and Chief Instructor with staff of Battalion Training School, Pampeimadu. During the awarding ceremony, the following student officers and other ranks were awarded trophies.
