As the direction of Army Headquarters and Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Battalion Training Course No. 29 of the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was conducted at Battalion Training School, Galkulama from 04 September 2023 to 24 October 2023. The course comprises with 09 officers and 303 Other Ranks.
The curriculum at the course included lectures and practical sessions on map reading, counter-insurgency operations, internal security, fighting in build-up areas, live firing, and swimming. Further, the presentation on “Eastern Humanitarian Operation“ was conducted by a team of 16th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiments prior to battalion training at 1830 hours on 23 October 2023.
The closing remarks of the course were done by the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) with the participation of General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division and 56 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of SFHQ (W), Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks. During the awarding ceremony, the following officers and Other Ranks were awarded trophies:
