On the instruction of Commander Security Forces - Wanni, Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP and General Officer Commanding - 56 Infantry Division Major General A A D N S P Dunuwila RWP RSP USP, the troops of 562 Infantry Brigade launched a disinfection programme in and around public places in Vavuniya on 24th June 2021 in order to suppress the spread of the COVID - 19 virus.
The programme conducted under the supervision of commander 562 Infantry Brigade Brigadier A M S Premawansa RWP RSP USP and troops sterilized public places in Bus Stands, Railway Station, Welfare Centers, State and Private Banks, Market, General Hospital, Government and Non-government Institutions, Public Assembly Points and Three wheeler parks in Vavuniya Town area. 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment carried out these disinfection campaigns along with the assistance of Engr tps of 8 fd Engr Regiment, Public Health Inspector and Urban Council.
