Sri Lanka Army while ensuring its prime duty to safeguard the mother land is excelling its brilliancy in number of field such as Sports, Academic and many more. In that context, the team of Sri Lanka Muaythai Tradition Martial Art recorded a grand victory during the Muaythai Championship – 2019 held at Digana Indoor stadium on 7 ,8 and 9th June 2019.
Muaythai is the 53 sport of the Army and standard as 63 National sports under the Ministry of Sports.
The competitors of Sri Lanka Army Team secured 15 Gold out of 22 (Simply 2/3) Gold medals. 8 weight classes were predominatingby winning all the medals.Altogether the talented and skilful competitors of Sri Lanka Army were able to achieve 15 Gold,12Silver and 13 Bronzesetting 40 Medals to colour the team.
Maj Gen M Mudannayaka RSP USP as the chairman and Lt Col P P C Perera as the coach alongside with other officials of Sri Lanka Army Muaythai Committee guided Army Muaythai team to become predominate force within two years in the field of Mauythai Sports.
