As a result of discussion held with General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division Major General Upali Gunasekara RWP USP IG and officers of farmers society, a Sramadhana campaign has been conducted by the troops of 5 (V) Battalion the Gajaba Regiment, under the instruction of Commander 623 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Rohan Medagoda with the supervision of Commanding Officer 5 (V) GR Maj Dhammika Herath at Olugaskadawala on 21st Nov 2021.
The aforesaid programme was organized together with 01 x 15 troops from 5 (V) GR, 19 x members from farmers’ society - Olugaskadawala, and they renovated the Spill of Olugaskadawala tank bund with the Mahaweli Authority of sector "L", to facilitate cultivation during Maha Season.
