SILNADA BATHI GEE SARANIYA TOOK PLACE AT 61 DIVISION ON WESAK POYA DAY
As the Buddhists all around the world are celebrating the Thrice-Blessed Day marking the Birth, Attaining Enlightenment and Passing Away of the Lord Buddha, As the country celebrate Vesak, 61 Division troops organized Vesak Zone on 03 May 2015 in VELLANKULAM to enhance harmony and peace among the solders.\r\n\r\nVesak Zone was made very attractive with colourful one by studedents of Sri seelananda Sunday School at PANNALA , Wesak Lanterns prepared by army troops and Dansal took a very special place among the solders. Approximately 600 soliders were participated for this event and appreciated this valuable programme which enlightened their understanding about cultures, with entertainment.\r\n\r\nGeneral Officer Commanding 54 Division Major General KMU Wijerathna USP ndu was the chief guest with invitation of the Brigadier WA Wanniarachchi RWP RSP USP Psc ,General Officer Commanding 61 Division attended the opening ceremony. \r\nBrigade Commanders,Commanding Officers, Seiner Officers, soldiers , teachers and students of Sri seelananda Sunday School at PANNALA attended this occasion.
