SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) VESTS TWO MORE HOUSES FOR LESS PRIVILEGED FAMILIES

Two more newly constructed houses were declared opened on 24 April 2020 by Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc with his vision of facilitating underprivileged families in Wanni region.

First house was given to the family of Mr. KD Nandasena living in Ethdathkalla, Thanthirimale. He was living with his wife and four children in great despair due to economic constraints for a long time. Second house was to the family of Mr. DK Dinesh Kumara Delgahapeela living in Medawachchieliya, Thanthirimale. He was living with his wife and three children in great despair due to economic constraints for a long time.

Commander 212 Bde Colonel Anil Peiris, through his personal affiliations invited philanthropists living in Australia Mr Jagath Gunasekara and Shantha Kumaragamage who was keenly waiting for an opportunity to lend a helping hand to a destitute family, to provide financial requirements to construct a new house for the family of Mr. KD Nandasena and Mr. DK Dinesh Kumara Delgahapeela.

Construction of houses were undertaken by 5th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard under Commander 212 Brigade with the supervision of General Officer Commanding - 21 Division Major General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.

The newly constructed house comprised with all facilities such as sitting area, dining room, bedrooms, washroom, kitchen etc and was gifted with essential house hold items, electric appliances and furniture. In addition, the beneficiary was much fortunate to be facilitated.

Giving a prime place to religious observances, the key of newly constructed houses were auspiciously handed over by the Commander SF Wanni Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc gracing a brief ceremony as the Chief Guest.

General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu The Commander 212 Brigade, Chief Civil affairs officer SFHQ (Wanni) Civil affairs officers of 21 DIV and 212 Bde, the Commanding Officer of 5 Sri Lanka National Guard and family members of beneficiary along with number of civilians in the village too were present at the ceremony.
