SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) INITIATED MEDICAL CAMPS AND TREAT MORE THAN 400 CIVILIANS

Considering the medical requirements of needy families in the Security Force (Wanni) area, under the guidance of the Commander, Security Force (Wanni), Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, held three medical camps at Cultural Hall - Vavuniya, Bogaswewa Hospital - Vavuniya and Kawanthissapura - Weli Oya on Saturday (29) and Sunday (30).

The civil-military cooperation project, manned by a team of 03 medical officers and 09 nursing staff members of the “Jayagrahanaya” Foundation led by Dr. Anula Wijesundara, provided free treatment and medical consultations to more than 400 civilians in those villages during the clinic. The medical clinic consisted of a cardiology clinic and a physician clinic. Along with this medical clinic, this foundation also distributed dry ration packs and necessary school items, worth of Rs: 300,000.00 to selected 100 low-income families and the school children of those families.

The community service that goes in line with the directions of the Commander of the Army for enhancement of civil-oriented community service projects with the intention of further improving reconciliation and goodwill between the masses and the armed forces.
